Our Story
Vallésoir is my love letter to the craftsmanship and color of vintage ski style, the romance of the Rocky Mountains, the spirit of the American West, and the belief that the things we wear should have a story. It’s a word we created to mean “valley evenings”—meant to evoke that beautiful feeling of being out West: fresh snowfall, crisp mountain air, and evenings spent tucked away in the valley.
Every year I’ve lived in New York, I’ve found myself escaping to the Rockies. The mountains became my sanctuary: a place where you feel a shared camaraderie with the people around you, where life feels a little lighter, and where the sheer scale of the landscape humbles you into being still and present with nature.
My years at the Michelin Guide and 1stDibs only deepened an obsession I’d always had with curation—the stories behind the things we own, the food we eat, and the places we stay, and how their surroundings shape them. Naturally, my love of discovering the stories behind beautiful things, combined with my constant escapes to the Rockies, led me to fall in love with vintage ski sweaters.
I started collecting them secondhand and became fascinated by their craftsmanship and the bold, graphic designs inspired by old ski-racing uniforms. They came from an era when skiwear was colorful, sporty, beautifully made, and elegant. I loved them so much that I kept wondering: why should something this good only exist as vintage—or only be worn on the mountain?
Vallésoir was born to bring the spirit of skiing’s golden age back to the slopes, and into everyday life.
Made for the slopes, but never meant to stay there.
